Screening at The Regal in the RAF’s centenary year, this feature documentary shines a light on the plane and the people that helped win the Battle of Britain, and ultimately the Second World War. This special event will feature exclusive additional footage recorded at the world premiere on July 9th and will be followed by a Q&A moderated by ‘Honorary Group Captain’ Carol Vorderman and very special guests.

As told by the last serving heroes who built, flew and fought in her, SPITFIRE is a cinematic, epic, sweeping tale of determination, vision and courage. It is the story of an aeroplane that was forged in competition, shaped as the war clouds gathered, and refined in the white heat of combat – going on to become the most famous fighter plane ever made.

Credited with changing the course of world history, this is the story of the Spitfire – told personally in the words of the last-surviving combat veterans.

With breath-taking aerial footage from the world’s top aviation photographer, John Dibbs, and never before seen digitally re-mastered, archive footage from the tumultuous days of the 1940's, when her power in the skies was unrivalled; all combined with a specially commissioned score by composer Chris Roe and an incredible soundscape of the famous Merlin engine, which makes this a striking and poignant film.

SPITFIRE explores how this extraordinary plane became the most famous fighter aircraft ever made and how it has become an international icon.

So, join us for this patriotic celebration in remembrance of the mighty men and women that helped win WW2.

We're delighted to be fundraising for the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) at each of our screenings and will be welcoming to the cinema the Evesham branch's 97 year old vice-chairman, Mr Brereton, who actually worked on serving Spitfires & Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain! RAFA is the leading membership organisation and charity providing welfare support for Serving and Ex-Serving RAF personnel and their families, so please give generously to this wonderful cause.
